A proper road bike fit system is key to comfort and performance. I use the " Technical Guide for Bike Fitting" which can be applied to any level of rider or expertise. Originally published in 1997, it was the first system that dealt with Bike Fit from the front view (Z-plane). This process is dedicated to all aspects of the sport - climbing, descending, pack, or solo riding. Cleat Placement, Saddle Placement, Stem/Handlebar placement and Bar positioning are all covered. The System is a component of the Bicycle Fitting System founded by 1998 Goodwill Games Gold Medalist, 8-time US National Champion, and US National Cycling Team member Paul Swift. Fitting includes…..

Saddle – Saddle choice is key to a proper bike fit. If you cannot sit comfortably on the bike, you will make unnecessary compensations elsewhere which may lead to knee, shoulder, or lower back pain.

Saddle Position – The proper saddle height and for-aft position ensures correct leg extension, maximum torch, and is determined by specific measurements and angles.

Cockpit Position – A well positioned cockpit places a rider’s back, shoulder, and hips in the most optimal and comfortable position.

Foot Pedal Interface – How your feet are placed on the pedals is the final but very critical component of a proper bike. It determines how well (or off) your knee is aligned with your foot. Improper knee to foot alignment can cause unnecessary knee, hip, or lower back pain.

Road Bike Fit – $175.00 by reservation. Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
